Coming soon · Free on every plan
Your regulars, on a schedule.
Put together a box, choose how often it goes out, and let buyers subscribe. SellFood charges their saved card each cycle and drops the order on your Orders page, ready to ship or hand over at pickup.

The problem
Your best customers order the same thing every month. By text.
A standing order is the steadiest money a home food business can have. Right now it lives in your messages and your memory.
Chasing the reorder
"Same as last month?" goes out to a dozen people, and half of them answer a week late. Every reorder is a conversation you have to start.
Chasing the money
Venmo requests, "I'll pay you at pickup", and the one who forgot. You bake first and hope the payment follows.
Guessing the bake
You don't know how many loaves to start until the texts come in. A subscriber count tells you before the week begins.
How it works
Set it up once. It runs every cycle.
Subscription boxes use the parts of SellFood you already have: your listings, your Orders page, shipping labels and Local Pickup.
1. Build the box
Pick what goes in it, set one price, and choose weekly, every two weeks, monthly or quarterly. Ship it, offer it for pickup, or both.
2. Buyers subscribe
They see the price, the schedule and how to cancel, then subscribe with the card saved on their account. The first box is paid that day.
3. Orders arrive on time
On each charge date the card is charged and a normal order lands on your Orders page. Print the label or wait for the pickup, same as any order.

What we're building
Subscription boxes are in design now. This is what they'll do.
Four simple schedules
Weekly, every two weeks, monthly or quarterly. One schedule per box keeps it simple for you and clear for the buyer.
Paid before you bake
Each cycle is charged to the buyer's saved card on the charge date, so the money is in before the oven goes on.
A real order every cycle
Every charge becomes a normal order: on your Orders page, in the buyer's order history, and ready for a shipping label.
Ship it or hand it over
Offer a box by mail, through Local Pickup at the times you already set, or both. The buyer picks when they subscribe.
Counted in your books
Box orders land in Accounting and your Sales Limit Tracker like every other sale. No separate spreadsheet.
Clear terms for buyers
Price, schedule and how to cancel are on screen before anyone subscribes, and buyers can cancel from their account.
What it costs
Free to offer. The usual fee per box.
A subscription is a sale that repeats, so each box is charged like any other SellFood order. No extra plan needed.
to set up boxes, on every plan
on each box charge, same as any order
for Founding members, same as their online orders
Stripe also charges its card processing fee on each box charge, usually 2.9% + 30¢ per payment in the U.S., the same as on online orders. See pricing →

What subscription boxes don't do
We're keeping the first version simple so it's easy for you to run and easy for buyers to trust.
Frequently asked
Subscription boxes, answered
What does a subscription box cost me?
Subscription boxes are free on every SellFood plan. Each box charge carries the same transaction fee as any other order: 10% on Free and Artisan Pro, 6.5% for Founding members. Stripe also charges its card processing fee, usually 2.9% + 30¢ per payment in the U.S.
How often can a box go out?
Weekly, every two weeks, monthly or quarterly. You choose one schedule for each box, and everyone who subscribes to that box gets it on that schedule.
When is the buyer charged?
Once when they subscribe, then on the same day each cycle after that. The charge goes to the card saved on their SellFood account, and each charge creates a normal order on your Orders page.
Can buyers pick up instead of getting it shipped?
Yes. A box can ship or be picked up through Local Pickup, using the pickup times you already set.
Can a buyer cancel?
Yes. Buyers see the price, how often they'll be charged and how to cancel before they subscribe, and they can cancel from their account. A cancelled subscription stops future charges.
Can I sell a subscription in my state?
A subscription box is a series of normal sales, so the same state rules apply: what you can make, whether you can ship, and any yearly sales limit. Your SellFood state guide covers those rules. This is not legal advice.
When will subscription boxes be available?
We're building them now. Join the waitlist and we'll send one email when they open.
