Everything your tax preparer needs, in one zip

Not sure what to give your tax preparer for a small food business? SellFood builds it: Schedule C page, expenses, sales, mileage, every receipt, and a README. Download it, or email a private link. Part of Artisan Pro.

The problem

Your preparer asks for "your records." You have a shoebox and a Venmo feed.

Ask an accountant what tax documents a cottage food seller should bring: sales totals, expenses by type, receipts, business miles, kitchen square footage. Most sellers have all of it. None of it is in one place.

📧

Eleven emails in February

A screenshot of your Stripe balance. A photo of a booth-fee receipt. A guess at your mileage. Every back-and-forth is billable time, and every guess is a number taken on faith.

🗂️

Receipts with no context

Forty phone photos named IMG_4821 tell your preparer nothing. Which one was the mason jars? Which was the flour? Which was the October market?

🔒

Oversharing by accident

Export your whole order history and you've handed a third party every buyer's name and email. Your preparer needs totals, not your customer list.

What's in the package

Seven items, one zip. Tap each to see what it holds, which Schedule C lines it feeds, and what's kept out. Then pick a delivery method.

Inside the zip

    What it contains

    Feeds these Schedule C lines

Line mapping is a bookkeeping convenience, not tax advice — confirm with your preparer. This shows records, not tax owed; SellFood does not calculate tax.

In the real tool, this is one button on your Taxes page. Pick the year and the delivery method; the zip is built from your actual orders, expenses, receipts, and trips.

    Included with Artisan Pro

Tax documents for your accountant, assembled for you

Built from the records you keep all year on the Accounting and Taxes pages. Nothing to re-enter in January.

    📦

    One click, one zip

Five PDFs, a receipts folder, and a README, built for the tax year you pick from the sales, expenses, mileage, and subscription charges already on your account.

    📋

    Schedule C page included

The tax-year PDF has a Schedule C view: ingredients under Part III, packaging on Line 22, market fees on 27a, mileage on Line 9, home kitchen on Line 30.

    🧾

Receipts renamed by date, category, amount

Every receipt you attached during the year lands in the folder as date-category-amount, and the expenses ledger names the file next to each line. No more IMG_4821.

Email it with a private link

Enter your preparer's address and an optional note. SellFood sends a private link that works for seven days, copies you, and routes replies to you.

    🏷️

Your tax profile on the cover

Business name, product, business code, EIN, and address on page one. Your EIN is masked on screen and appears in full only on the PDFs, never in a CSV.

    Coming 📅

    Quarterly deadline reminders

An email a week before each estimated-tax due date with the quarter's net profit from your SellFood data. A reminder, not a calculation.

    Questions sellers ask

Will my preparer know what to do with it?

Yes. The zip opens with a README.txt that lists every file and what it covers. The tax-year PDF includes a Schedule C view, so your categories are already in line order: Part III for ingredients, Line 22 for packaging, Line 10 for platform and Stripe fees. Your preparer transcribes, checks, and asks about anything unusual.

Is my buyers' information in the package?

No. The sales PDF lists your SellFood orders with dates, amounts, refunds, and Stripe processing fees, but never a buyer's name or email. Your preparer needs your totals, not your customer list. Offline sales you logged appear on the same PDF with their payment method.

    Where is my 1099-K?

Payments run through your own Stripe account, so Stripe issues any Form 1099-K, not SellFood. The README says so, and the sales PDF gives your preparer the order totals and processing fees to reconcile against it. If Stripe doesn't send one, the package still holds your full sales record.

How long does the emailed link work, and can I send it to myself?

Seven days. SellFood sends a private link to the address you enter, copies you, and sets replies to go to you. Up to three sends a day, and a new send for the same year replaces the last. You can enter your own address to keep a copy in your inbox, or choose Download and skip email entirely.

    Does SellFood keep a copy?

Only if you email it. Download builds the zip in your browser and nothing is stored on SellFood. Email to preparer keeps one copy per tax year in private storage so the link works for seven days; the next send for that year replaces it. Ask us and we'll remove it.

    Ready for January?

Track it all year. Hand it over in one click.
